Cathie Wood Stands by $1.5 Million Bitcoin Target Despite Market Volatility
Cathie Wood is reaffirming one of Wall Street's boldest Bitcoin forecasts, arguing the cryptocurrency could still reach as much as $1.5 million by 2030 despite recent market turbulence.
The ARK Invest CEO defended her long-term outlook in response to comments from billionaire hedge fund manager Philippe Laffont, who recently expressed growing uncertainty about Bitcoin's future role in investment portfolios.
In a post on X, Wood argued that artificial intelligence will complement—not replace—Bitcoin's investment thesis.
"Capital outflows from less stable countries around the world will light another fire under bitcoin and other digital assets," she wrote, adding that while AI is driving a technological revolution, it cannot provide the same wealth-preservation benefits as Bitcoin.
Wood has maintained her bullish outlook for years. During an April appearance on The Rollup podcast, she said ARK Invest's base case projects Bitcoin at roughly $730,000 by 2030, with a bull case of $1.5 million.
Her latest comments come as investors continue to debate whether Bitcoin's role as a digital store of value will strengthen as AI reshapes global markets.
